As a young kid, I dreamed of becoming a firefighter. I dreamed of protecting lives, saving homes and property, and one day leading a department that would make a lasting difference and not only within its own ranks, but throughout the communities it proudly serves.
Last night, that dream became an even greater reality.
It is with immense gratitude and excitement that I announce we officially signed the ESD 2 (Emergency Services District) contract.
To the citizens of our district and the surrounding communities, thank you. A year ago, you placed your faith in us through your vote. You believed in our vision, our mission, and our commitment to serving others. That trust is something we will never take for granted.
People often say Rome wasn’t built in a day, and that’s absolutely true. Great things are built one step at a time through sacrifice, perseverance, faith, and countless hours of hard work. As I signed that contract as your Fire Chief, I reflected on the journey that brought us here. It wasn’t just my signature on that page as it represented every firefighter, every volunteer, every family member, every supporter, and every citizen who believed in what we could become together.
I couldn’t be more proud of the incredible men and women of this department. They have dedicated countless hours to training, serving, sacrificing, and answering every call with courage, professionalism, and compassion. Whether it’s two o’clock in the afternoon or two o’clock in the morning, they answer the call without hesitation. They are the heart of this department, and I am truly honored to stand beside them.
While this is a tremendous milestone, it is not our destination. It is the foundation for an even brighter future. We will continue raising the standard, strengthening our department, investing in our firefighters, and providing the highest level of service to every citizen who depends on us.
To every young boy or girl who dreams of becoming a firefighter, police officer, paramedic, teacher, or anything else your heart desires, never stop believing and to every adult who thinks it’s too late to chase a dream, let me remind you that it is never too late. Dreams don’t have an expiration date. With faith, determination, and hard work, what seems impossible today can become tomorrow’s reality.
Our department isn’t just a team but it is a family and to our community, you are family too. Together, we will continue building something that future generations can be proud of.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in us, standing beside us, and allowing us the privilege of serving you.
No matter the hour. No matter the weather. No matter the challenge.
When the tones drop, we will answer.
We will serve with honor.
We will lead with integrity.
We will protect with courage.
and we will never stop striving to make our community safer than it was yesterday.
May God continue to bless our firefighters, our families, our community, and everyone who answers the call to serve others.
