🥯📚 Books & Bagels was a BIG hit with our 5th graders! 📚🥯
Our 5th graders showed off some impressive reading skills as they read alongside their parents, while parents practiced asking thoughtful comprehension questions. 💚📖

After reading, everyone logged into Beanstack to record those important reading minutes! ⏱️📚

✨ Did you know? Students who read for just 20 minutes a day can be exposed to roughly 1.8 million words over a school year! Consistent reading is also associated with stronger academic and reading outcomes.

We love seeing our Jackrabbits and their families make reading a part of their day! 🐰💚

We love hearing from our families! Today's message is for Mr. Garcia, one of our 1st grade teachers.💙🍎

"Mr. Garcia had my daughter last year, and she was so nervous and scared to start kindergarten. He was very understanding and had patience with her. When there were issues with other students, he was very helpful and helped me with ensuring my daughter felt comfortable. He helped her overcome her fears and insecurities. She managed to pass kindergarten, and we are both happy to have Mr. Garcia again for this year. She has become comfortable, brave and loves to learn. You know when you're a good teacher when your student wants to go to school everyday and loves to learn!"

Jackson-Keller Elementary is incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club of San Antonio-Airport for their generous literacy grant! Because of their support, JK was able to purchase Playaway Wonderbooks for our library. 📖🎧✨

Wonderbooks combine printed text with audio to create a multisensory reading experience that helps make books accessible and engaging for students of all abilities—including students with dyslexia, special education needs, and emergent bilingual learners.

Your generosity is helping put more books into the hands of our students while opening the door to meaningful, joyful reading experiences. Thank you for investing in our Jackrabbits and helping us grow a love of literacy! 🐰💚📚
