Introducing our TK teachers, Ms. Julayne and Ms. Martha! They are both in their fifth year at Elevate, but have bravely taken on the exciting adventure of launching our very first Elevate TK classroom!💫
🍎 Ms. Julayne grew up in Colorado, but moved to San Diego in 2019 to attend San Diego State University. At SDSU she received a Bachelors of Art in Psychology. Ms. Julayne started working with kids in high school and has had various jobs from nannying, working at a women's center, an art teacher in a school in Rwanda, and finally found her way to Elevate. Here, she started as RTI, became a whole school substitute, then helped to build out the Elevation Program (formerly known as ELO-P). She is now thrilled to be a TK Teacher. She loves her cats, plants, camping, and spending lots of time reading! She spends a lot of time doing outdoor activities and arts and crafts. In her free time, she also loves to go to restaurants and sharpen the saw by working out at the gym.
🍎 Ms. Martha was born and raised in Mexico. Her family moved to San Diego when she was in high school, and she has lived in San Diego ever since. Despite the challenges of learning English, she continued to work hard to finish her degree in psychology at SDSU. Everyday, she looks forward to working with her students. During her years at Elevate, she has had the great opportunity to work with a team where communication, support and understanding are first priority. Ms. Martha loves spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time playing board games, going out to theme parks, or going to new places. She also enjoys helping the community through her church by participating in environmental clean-up campaigns, blood and food drives.
