Opening July 30: A new home for the Southeast Child and Family Therapy Center and Families Rising Behavioral Health.

The San Francisco Department of Public Health and San Francisco Public Works partnered to renovate the Southeast Behavioral Health Center at 2401 Keith St., formerly the home of primary care services prior to the opening of the Southeast Family Health Center in 2022.

The project scope included modernization of outdated mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm systems, along with exterior improvements to refresh the building’s appearance and an upgrade to vibrant, modern interior finishes.

Located next to the Southeast Family Health Center, this renovation enhances opportunities for stronger integration between primary care and specialty behavioral health services, improving the client experience for families in the Bayview–Hunters Point neighborhood.

SFDPH extends its appreciation to our state and federal partners for funding and supporting this project.

Today, Director Dan Tsai joined Mayor Daniel Lurie and Supervisors Danny Sauter, Connie Chan, and Chyanne Chen, along with community members to celebrate the groundbreaking of long‑awaited improvements at the Chinatown Public Health Center, in partnership with San Francisco Public Works.

Thanks to the voter‑approved 2024 Healthy, Safe and Vibrant San Francisco Bond, this project will strengthen one of our most culturally rooted and community‑serving health centers and prepare it to safely serve future generations.

For nearly 100 years, CPHC has provided trusted medical, dental, and behavioral health services to San Franciscans, with 80% of patients speaking Chinese as their primary language. Renovations will seismically reinforce the building, expand dental care, improve accessibility, enhance air quality, and increase exam and consultation rooms.

Construction will take place over the next two and a half years. During this time, patients will continue receiving care in the community at Chinese Hospital 東華醫院 to ensure uninterrupted access to their providers.
