The Iron Horse Regional Trail is one of the Bay Area's best-kept secrets. This 32-mile bike and pedestrian path runs along a former Southern Pacific rail line from Concord to Pleasanton, passing through six parks and five downtowns along the way. The trail is fully accessible by public transit, with BART stations at both ends. Grab your bike, hop on BART, and go explore!

Decades before the High Line, this epic Bay Area bike trail was born from a former railroad track.
