From our Public Health Department: West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne disease that is most prevalent in summer and early fall. The first two cases of West Nile virus in Santa Clara County this year have been reported to the Public Health Department. Most people will experience no or mild symptoms, but West Nile Virus can be very serious, and even deadly, for some people. Learn more at stopmosquitoes.org.

Training and equipment that can save a life!

Santa Clara County Library District, in partnership with Santa Clara County Public Health, is offering training for our community members about how to recognize an opioid overdose and how to safely administer the nasal spray Naloxone (commonly known as Narcan).

The training will include signs of an overdose, administering Naloxone, an overview on Fentanyl and resources from the Public Health Department Sexual Health and Harm Reduction Program

Participants who complete this one-hour training will be given a free limited number of Naloxone dosages (while supplies last).

Campbell Library: August 5 at 2 p.m.
Cupertino Library: August 12 at 2 p.m.
Saratoga Library: August 19 at 2 p.m.
Los Altos Library: September 2 at 3 p.m.
Milpitas Library: September 16 at 3 p.m.

Hundreds of babies have been born at Regional Medical Center since the County purchased the hospital and reopened its Birth Center in 2025. Sharing good news from the County's Social Services Agency: Medi-Cal will continue to provide dental benefits for adult members who were active before January 1, 2026, regardless of immigration status, through July 2027. Prior to the state budget, dental benefits for adult Medi-Cal members who did not have satisfactory immigration status were scheduled to end in July 2026. Please continue to use your dental benefits!
