🔥Timber Fire Evening Update: September 14, 2026🔥
25,426 acres, 39% contained, 1,219 people assigned.

The Timber Fire did not experience any growth today. Firefighters continued to address the more active sides of the fire in the north east and south areas of the fire. Crews completed structure protection and cleared vegetation around the Apple Pie Ridge community (pictured below).

The recent attacks by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank demand a forceful response from the Israeli government. Prime Minister Netanyahu must ensure that Israeli authorities fully investigate these attacks and prosecute those responsible for these reprehensible acts. Accountability under the law is essential to protecting civilians and preserving the possibility of a lasting two-state peace for Israelis and Palestinians alike.

Another briefing this Saturday at the Incident Command about the suppression efforts underway against the Timber and Plaskett Fires. The focus continues to be on putting out the fire with fire. Although fire crews continue to face extremely difficult terrain, which makes it very tough, fire activity is slowing and containment lines are growing. Appreciate the thousands of firefighters, emergency personnel, and first responders working day and night to put out the fires and protect our communities.
