🎃 DON’T MISS THE GAME TENT!

One of our favorite parts of Halloween Fun at the Park is the Game Tent, and our friends from Special Olympics Indiana Shelby County are back again this year to make it extra special! ❤️

These amazing volunteers give their time each year to help make our event great, and we are so grateful for their partnership and support.

Be sure to add the Game Tent to your Halloween Fun at the Park must-do list!

When we heard there was another costume collection happening, it grabbed our attention! The cause behind this event just grew by leaps and bounds. 🤗 Shelby County Su***de Prevention Coalition and Buddies Helping Buddies accepted the challenge to support the family of Sammy Teusch to collect more costumes for kids who may otherwise go without!

Sammy loved all things Halloween, especially the Ghost Busters! Unfortunately, Sammy is no longer with us, but we want to honor him with the biggest Costume Exchange we’ve ever done!

This new collaboration extends costume drop off points to Boba Cafe, Shelbyville, Indiana Parks, and Healthy Shelby County!

Be a Halloween Hero! Make a costume donation to any of these locations!

🎉 Healthy Shelby County Open House is just over a week out! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome the community to The Mary Jane Reed & Robert W. Reed CommunityLink for our Open House! Come tour the building, meet our partner agencies, and learn more about Healthy Shelby County.

📍 PARKING & SHUTTLE INFORMATION

We know parking is an important part of making your visit easy, so we have a few options available:

🚌 FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE
Parking will be available at Shelbyville High School near the softball diamonds, on the Miller Street side. A shuttle bus will run between the high school parking lot and The CommunityLink, bringing guests directly to our entrance and back to their vehicles.

The shuttle will run in approximately 15-minute intervals throughout the event.

🚗 ADDITIONAL PARKING — WEATHER PERMITTING
If weather and ground conditions are favorable, we have been given permission to utilize the grass lot near The CommunityLink for additional parking. A traffic attendant will be available to direct guests where to park.

⚠️ Please note: The grass parking option will only be available if ground conditions are favorable. We want to protect the property and make sure everyone can safely access the event.

Do not utilize the Willows of Shelbyville or Especially Kids parking lots. We want to be good neighbors to them and leave their spots open to their staff, guests, and patients.

We look forward to seeing you, showing you around, and sharing what is happening at The CommunityLink! ❤️

Stay healthy, Shelby County! ✌

It’s that time of year!

🍂 Seasonal Park Restroom Closure 🍂

As we head into the fall and winter months, please be aware that public restrooms in our parks will be closing soon for the season so they can be winterized properly before cold weather arrives! 🥶
They will officially close Thursday, October 15 @ 8pm.
Weather permitting••• we are hoping to leave the Trailhead on North 9 and Fishing Node restrooms along the trail at Blue River Memorial Park open a little longer! Stay tuned for updates here on social media! ✔️

🌈 🪨 Something beautiful is growing along the Blue River Trail!
This is the definition of collaboration to help beautify our community by creating a new rock garden. 💙

A huge thank you to our Parks Maintenance Team for creating this beautiful space, and to Keyen Macklin for contacting all of the organizations that helped paint the rocks. We love seeing our community come together to add a little color and kindness to the trail!

Next time you’re walking or biking by the garden, feel free to pick up a rock that speaks to you—or leave one behind for someone else to find. 🎨🪨

A simple idea, a lot of helping hands, and one more reason to love our community! 💚
