🚌 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK 🚨

We’re halfway through the week, and today’s reminder from the Shinnston Police Department may be the most important one:

🛑 NEVER PASS A STOPPED SCHOOL BUS‼️

When those red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, children may be getting on, getting off, or crossing the roadway.

That appointment can wait.
Work will still be there.
Those few seconds you save aren’t worth a child’s life.

⚠️ STOP. BE PATIENT. LET THEM CROSS SAFELY.

Obey the law.
Protect our kids.
Protect our future. 💙

🚌 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK 🚨

Today’s reminder from the Shinnston Police Department:

⚠️ SLOW DOWN & STAY ALERT!

School buses mean children are nearby and kids don’t always do what we expect. They may suddenly step into the roadway, cross between vehicles, or be difficult to see.

📵 Put the phone down.
👀 Watch the roadway.
🐢 Slow down around bus stops and school buses.

A little extra attention can prevent a tragedy.

Let’s work together to make sure every child gets to school and back home safely. 💙

🚌 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK 🚨

School is almost back in session, which means those big yellow buses will be back on our roads!

Today’s reminder from the Shinnston Police Department is a simple one:

🛑 When the STOP ARM is out, YOU STOP‼️

Those flashing red lights and stop signs mean children may be entering or crossing the roadway. A few extra seconds out of your day could prevent a tragedy.

Slow down. Pay attention. Be patient.
Our kids are counting on us. 💙

A message from the Chief & Bear

As we all know school will be starting soon, which means that we will have more traffic on the roads in the morning and evening. Also, it means that the kids will be waiting on the buses 🚌 alongside the roads in the morning and in the evening the kids will be exiting the buses to go home. So please be mindful of the kids and the bus traffic. The Shinnston Police Department will be recognizing September as Bus Safety Month. Attached you, will see some school bus safety tips. Please be mindful, thank you and stay safe.
