NMSU Grant County CES Our mission is to provide educational services to the people and youth of Grant County, NM. Grant.

Grant honors the great General and President of the United States, Ulysses S. Silver City, the county seat, is home to Western New Mexico University. The discovery of gold in May 1860 and silver in 1870 drew many early settlers. Now the open-pit copper mine at Santa Rita, opened by Spaniards in 1803, dominates the economy of the county. The Mimbres Valley is known for its great orchards and ranches. Several hundred thousand acres of the Gila National Forest lie within Grant County.

It was brought to my attention that there was a mistake in entries/age categories for Braiding 1. Please help me congratulate Annalea Holden for 1st place in the Junior division, and Jace Holden for 1st place in the Novice division!
