September is National Preparedness Month, and preparedness begins at home.

Is your household ready if an emergency happens?

Take time to create and practice an emergency plan: • Pick a safe place to meet
• Assign responsibilities
• Practice how to leave safely
• Make a plan to stay in touch

Being prepared helps keep families, neighbors, and communities safe.

Mosquitoes are active right now, so it’s important to protect yourself from bites. Use insect repellent, cover your skin when you can, and dump standing water around your home. These small steps help lower the chance of mosquito‑borne illness.
