FORT HALL — A fast-moving wildfire caused significant destruction to structures and vehicles Friday on the Fort Hall Reservation before firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.

Soda Springs Police Department will participate in a statewide Labor Day impaired‑driving mobilization from August 19 through September 7, 2026. The enforcement period is part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, coordinated in Idaho by the Office of Highway Safety.

During the mobilization, Soda Springs Police will increase patrols and focus on identifying drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Impaired driving remains a leading factor in serious crashes statewide, especially during holiday weekends.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, use a ride‑share service, or find another safe way home. Those who see an impaired driver on the road should call 911 when it is safe to do so.

The City of Soda Springs will be chipping and sealing Finlayson Subdivision.
FRIDAY, August 7, 2026.

Notices will be taken to the residents doors next week.

Please remove all vehicles, trailers and other items from the road in front of your house no later than 7:00 a.m. on that day. Items that are not removed will be towed away at the owner’s cost.

In addition, please do not have your sprinkler spraying onto the road the night before or the day of.

We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

Limited evacuation area was placed last night. Vehicle traffic and drone flights are asked to be avoided in the area. Estimate for containment is 8 PM

BREAKING: A brush fire at 11:45pm Tuesday near South Henry Creek Road and East Cast Iron Road in the Ammon Foothills of Bonneville County, .

No word on the size or the cause at this point.

Good work OCFD and Malad.

This was yesterday's fire on the Malad Summit. A truck and trailer caught fire and spread to the grass. You would be surprised how many of these fire calls we receive during the summer months.
