Who built the everything store? Spoiler: not just entrepreneurs.

Our NEW BOOK, Attention, Shoppers! by Kathleen Thelen, shows how policy turned scale into destiny...and more than a few small shops and malls into distant memories. Learn how rules, courts, and clout stacked the aisles in favor of big retail, all in a quick title that is at turns smart, sharp, and sometimes a little infuriating!

Stop in at KPC Library for the history and check it out for the plot twist: just as you've probably always suspected, markets are made, not found!

Still getting plenty of wonderful new books; just been so busy with the start of the new semester to make mention of them! Hoping the time crunch will shift next week when we resume longer hours.

New to KPC Library: Challenger - A True Story of Heroism and Disaster on the Edge of Space by Adam Higginbotham. This riveting, carefully reported narrative reconstructs the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy, linking the human stories of the crew with the technical and organizational failures that led to disaster.

A New York Times bestseller and winner of the 2024 Kirkus Prize for Nonfiction, it spotlights the mission, the program’s history, and what we’ve learned since. Ideal for fans of space history and page-turning true stories. Check it out and join the conversation about science, risk, and accountability.
