Thank you San Vicente Elementary School for inviting us to your Career Day! We had a wonderful time meeting your curious, energetic students and sharing what firefighters do to keep the community safe. Their great questions and enthusiasm were a joy — we hope we inspired a few future first responders!

🌿 **Friendly Reminder: W**d Abatement** 🌿

As the weather warms up, it’s important to stay on top of w**d abatement to help keep our community safe and reduce fire risk.

✅ Cut and remove dry grass, w**ds, and brush
✅ Clear vegetation around structures (defensible space)
✅ Trim tree branches away from roofs and chimneys
✅ Remove dead plants and debris from yards and gutters
✅ Keep driveways and access roads clear

Taking a little time now can make a big difference in protecting your home, your neighbors, and first responders.

Let’s all do our part to keep our community clean, safe, and fire-ready! 🔥

Opening Day ⚾️

Today marked Opening Day for Soledad Little League, and Truck 37 was proud to be part of the celebration! Our firefighters stopped by to help kick off the season and make sure all the little sluggers had a fun and safe day at the ballpark.

We love being part of our communities and supporting events that bring families together. Good luck to all the players this season—play hard and have fun! ⚾️

When the clocks spring forward for Daylight Saving Time, it’s the perfect time to do a quick safety check around your home. ⏰🚒
Start inside by testing your smoke alarms and replacing the batteries if needed. According to the National Fire Protection Association, working smoke alarms can cut the risk of dying in a home fire by nearly half.
It’s also a great time to step outside and begin your spring yard cleanup. Remove dead leaves and vegetation, trim back overgrown plants, and start creating defensible space around your home before fire activity begins to pick up. 🌿🔥
Taking a few minutes today can help keep your home and family safer all year long

🌧️ Stormy Weather Moving Across California ❄️

Heavy rain and mountain snow are impacting communities across the state this week, bringing the potential for flooding, slick roadways, and travel disruptions. CAL FIRE crews are ready to respond to incidents ranging from flooding to mud and debris flows.

Now is the time to take simple steps to stay safe:

• Stay informed — monitor weather updates and emergency alerts.
• Slow down on wet roads and allow extra stopping distance.
• Never drive through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Prepare your home — clear drains and secure loose outdoor items.
• Keep your distance from downed power lines — always assume they’re energized.

Winter storms help build California’s water supply, but preparedness helps protect our families and communities.

Follow CAL OES, CAL FIRE, and local agencies for real-time updates.
