Cars & Coffee presented by Central Indiana Chevy Dealers returns to the Museum parking lots inside the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8-11 a.m.!

Showcase your car, truck, or motorcycle at this free community event and connect with other automotive enthusiasts.

Coffee will be available for purchase from Java House with proceeds benefiting the Museum.

From the Marmon Wasp to the modern era, a tour guide will walk you through the evolution of the track and its most iconic race. Run it back! Alex Palou just won his 5th NTT INDYCAR SERIES title, putting him third all-time behind Scott Dixon (6) and A.J. Foyt (7). It's his 4th title in a row, tying a series record set by Sebastien Bourdais from 2004-07. Palou is also the youngest driver in series history to win five titles.

Did you know the Astor Challenge Cup, which lists every champion from 1909 onwards, lives in the Museum full-time?* It has officially been presented to the series champion driver since 2011.

Have you visited the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation lnnovation Workshop inside the IMS Museum?

This is the education hub of the Museum, offering dedicated space for hands-on learning and problem-solving activities. Open to general admission guests of all ages, activities change regularly. Guests can interact with our aerodynamics wall, code autonomous robots, build with LEGO, and more.

*Note that the classroom is sometimes closed due to private field trips, camps, or events.

Support The Ford Wilson Race of Champions event hosted by the Museum by dining at Guggman Haus Brewing Co. on Thursday, Sept. 3!

For every pint sold that date, they'll donate $1 to the event. Those in attendance can participate in a drawing at 6:30 p.m. for a prize basket.

The Ford Wilson Race of Champions is a soap box derby for those with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities. The best part? It’s free for participants! Each participant is paired with a driver in a specially-constructed two-seater soap box derby car. The goal of this community initiative is to provide a safe, unique, and fun experience to those who may otherwise never know what it feels like to cross the finish line as a champion.

See Jeff Gordon's 2004 Brickyard 400-winning car, the DuPont Chevrolet Monte Carlo, in the "Jeff Gordon" exhibit at the IMS Museum! This car marks his fourth Brickyard 400 win. Gordon dominated that race, leading 124 of the 161 laps.

The "Jeff Gordon" exhibit is open until February 2027. Visit today!

The Wienermobile is here until 2 pm to celebrate that the Wienie 500 is now represented in the Museum! See the Borg-Warner Wieners Wreath and Borg-Wiener trophy, the winning Hotdogger suits from last year, and a Wiener Whistle up on the Mezzanine!
