The Memorial Day program was a short version today between the Liberty Fire Company Firefighters and the American Legion Post 602 at the Zion Cemetery because of the weather conditions but the Firefighters got to place their wreath at the Firemanโ€™s monument in honor of the deceased members of the company. And again our wreath was supplied by our friends from Buzy Beez Florist and again it was a fantastic job. If you are looking for a Florist we recommend Buzy Beez as they are local and support the Fire Department. They are located at 125 N. Lewis Road in Royersford and the staff is great to work with for your needs. Once again the Firefighters want to thank Tammy, Shannon and the rest of the staff for all you do to support Station 63. ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’

Today at 09.36 LFC and Royersford Fire Department were dispatched to 32.75 on the Schuylkill River Trail for a reported tree on fire. ATV63 on its first response and Squad 63 responded shortly after dispatch followed by Traffic 63 and Royersford Engine and Rescue 98, the location was unknown so ATV63 rode the trail looking for the source when crews staged in Hydromotion Parking Lot a subject reported to a member that it was in that area so ATV63 made their way back and went into service with the 1โ€ Booster line on a large tree that was burning, crews brought a chain saw down and started to cut up the tree to help with extinguishing it, Squad 63 relocated and used forestry hose to help with extinguishment. Crews were on location for about 1-1/2 hours and returned. Good job to hold it from spreading through the wooded area and great job by ATV63 on its first response also thank you to Hydromotion employee for the cold water supplied to the responders it was very much appreciated.

Last night the LFC joined forces with NFC Station 64 at the Spring City Fire Station for training. It was a second vehicle donated by Auto Rescue from Limerick to continue vehicle rescue training with area departments. Several different scenarios were set up and the departments became familiar with each others rescue equipment in case a time should arise where a major incident would happen. The LFC members would like to thank the Norco Fire Company crew for coming down with your apparatus and equipment and look forward to training together again in the future. Thanks also again to Auto Rescue for the vehicles it was much appreciated by all the departments that trained and to LFC Lieutenant/EMT Pam Petion for organizing the trainings.

In the last five days Station 63 has run a total of 11 calls in the Borough of Spring City, East Vincent Township, Phoenixville Borough and Limerick Township. We are looking for help as our call volume is climbing especially in the day time hours, if you would be interested stop by our Station any Monday night after 6.00 P.M. and meet the crew members and take a look at the equipment and trucks or contact us thru our page. We do pay for training and also have in house training. Monday night is our training night and we sometimes train with other departments and you could go along and get an idea of what the job consists of. We have a great group of members and would really like to see it grow and would like to see you there as one of us, so hopefully we see people show interest and our membership can continue to get bigger. Remember without Volunteer Firefighters it can significantly impact communities.
