Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary serve the veterans of this country and our communities. Volunteer with us and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in America!

For more than 100 years, the VFW Auxiliary [A non-profit 501[C][19] has been fulfilling its original objectives by supporting the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving veterans, active-duty military and their families, and spreading patriotism nationwide. Our members have volunteered millions of hours, donated millions of dollars and honored hundreds of thousands of veterans.

Did you see it? This morning, a stunning rainbow appeared over our hospital, creating a breathtaking view. In a world that often moves quickly, it was a beautiful reminder to pause, reflect, and appreciate one another and our shared commitment to caring for Veterans.

At VHSO, we are honored to serve our Veterans and to provide a place of healing, hope, compassion, and excellence. Thank you for allowing us to care for you and for being part of our VHSO community. You help make this a place of pride, purpose, and beauty.

At Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, we are committed to supporting Veterans’ health and well-being — including access to nutritious food. Through our Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) partnership with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, VHSO has hosted Food Box Giveaways to provide Veterans in need with shelf-stable food and connections to additional support. During these events, VA social workers are available to provide follow-up care, resources and guidance. Veterans can also learn about the Healthy Heroes Hub Program, which combines heart-healthy food, nutrition education and support for Veterans managing certain chronic conditions.

As we recognize National Food Bank Week this October 11th - 17th, we’re reminded of the importance of community partnerships in helping ensure Veterans have the resources they need to thrive. No Veteran should face hunger alone. Together, we can continue serving those who have served.

For World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that caring for ourselves matters, too. 💙

For the veterans, families, caregivers, coworkers, friends, and all those who spend so much of their time showing up for others, make sure you’re giving yourself that same care and compassion.

Check in with yourself. Take the break. Ask for help when you need it. Your mental health matters, today and every day. 🦋
