Hope has a way of changing everything.

It gives courage for today and confidence for tomorrow. It reminds us that even in difficult places, God is still at work.

This is our prayer for every child, every family, and every community we serve across Latin America and the Caribbean.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." — Romans 15:13

Most families experience difficult seasons.

But when you already live in extreme poverty, a single setback—a medical emergency, a failed crop, the loss of a job, rising food prices—can become a crisis.

The ChildHope Extreme Poverty Fund exists for those moments.

It helps provide emergency food, urgent medical care, educational support, and other critical assistance when families simply have nowhere else to turn.

Because sometimes the difference between despair and hope is someone showing up at exactly the right time.

Not every child who walks into a ChildHope school arrives with the same opportunities.

Kevin didn't.

He had already lost his glasses once because his family couldn't afford to replace them. Living with his grandmother after experiencing the loss of both parents, he had quietly learned to live with blurred vision and the weight of unanswered questions.

When doctors confirmed his condition and explained it could have been treated much earlier in life, Kevin broke down. He realized much of what he'd struggled with might have been prevented.

Thanks to ChildHope's Extreme Poverty Fund, Kevin received a new eye exam and the glasses he desperately needed.

When he tried them on, he smiled and said:

"I really notice the change now. I thank God He put it in your hearts to help me."
The new glasses will help Kevin succeed in school today. Even more importantly, he's learning that while people sometimes fail us, God never does. Through the Christ-centered education he receives every day, Kevin is discovering a hope that reaches far beyond what he can see.

Your gift to the Extreme Poverty Fund helps provide urgent care for children facing circumstances their families simply cannot overcome alone.

Imagine if one school...
could reach an entire community.

In a Mayan village in southern Belize, there's just one school—and ChildHope has the privilege of partnering with it.

More than 450 children, from preschool through eighth grade, attend this school. Because every child in the village comes here, every child has the opportunity to hear the hope of the Gospel while receiving a quality Christian education.

Thank you for helping make stories like this possible.

Every sponsor hopes they're making a difference.

Sometimes, that difference is best expressed in a goodbye letter.

As Iris prepared to graduate from ChildHope's sponsorship program in Peru, she wrote one final letter to the people who had encouraged her throughout her school years.

"Thank you for having been with me through my whole life as a student... I only hope that God fulfills His plans in my life."

Iris dreams of studying medicine. Along the way, people noticed needs others might have overlooked. During a visit to her school, a ChildHope team member saw that her glasses were broken and quietly purchased a new pair so she could continue learning. It was a simple act of kindness that helped keep her focused on the future.

Today, Iris is graduating with gratitude, hope, and a heart full of faith.

She asked her sponsors for one final gift:

"Please join me in prayer about all that is to come in my life."

Sponsorship doesn't simply help a child through school. It reminds them they are known, encouraged, and never walking alone.

Because of caring sponsors, students like Iris are stepping into the future believing God has a purpose for their lives.

This may be the last letter Iris writes as a sponsored student, but we pray it is only the beginning of the story God is writing in her life.

Yesterday morning, a powerful 7.4 earthquake shook western Colombia, affecting communities across the region—including communities where ChildHope serves children and families.

We are grateful that the children at our two ChildHope schools in the area are safe. One of our schools suffered significant damage, and classes have been suspended while the situation is assessed and repairs can be made.

Today, we ask you to join us in praying for Colombia—for those who are grieving, those whose homes and communities have been damaged, and those beginning the work of recovery.

We pray especially for the children and families our ChildHope schools serve, and for the pastors, teachers, and leaders caring for them.

May they find strength for today, hope for tomorrow, and the assurance that they are not alone.

Mucha fuerza, Colombia. 🇨🇴

These photos show some of the damage at our ChildHope school in Cali following Monday's earthquake.

Damage to the walls, bathrooms, and entrance has made the campus unsafe for students, and classes have been suspended while repairs are made.

For the children who come through these doors each day, this is more than a building. It's a place to learn, to grow, to be known and loved, and to encounter the hope of Jesus.

We're grateful to be able to come alongside this school and community as they begin to recover.

Please continue praying for our students, their families, and the leaders caring for them. 🇨🇴
