Delaware Elementary School This is the OFFICIAL account for Delaware Elementary School. Delaware Elementary is a very special place for learning.

Located in a beautiful neighborhood with big trees and older homes, Delaware is home to kindergarten through fifth grade classes and serves as a Springfield Public Schools site for several programs for children with special needs. The children and adults at Delaware learn how special each individual is as they experience school activities together and grow to respect people with all levels of abilities.

Delaware is beyond grateful for the partnership with Downtown Kiwanis Club. Our ISC team had an opportunity to participate in a fun night of trivia that raised funds to create a a specialized holiday experience for our students in the ISC program. Thank you for pouring into our students and providing us an evening of connection! 💚

We can't wait to see you for dinner tomorrow night at Culver's!

Congratulations to our Staff and Teacher of the Month, Mr. Dylan and Mrs. Hester!

Mr. Dylan has been a great addition to our Delaware team! He has built relationships with kids, teaches RTI lessons, leads our chat and chew, and helps teachers with countless projects!

Mrs. Hester is a supportive teammate; she is collaborative and always brings positive energy to the space. She has built an engaging learning environment for her students, and she makes learning fun!

Delaware is so lucky to have both of these educators!

Happy birthday, Cremer! We hope you had a great day! 🧡🍊🎃🦁

It's time for Delaware Storybook Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

**NO CARVED OR CUT PUMPKINS**

* Participation is entirely voluntary.
*Think of your favorite book and design your pumpkin based on your favorite character from
that book.
*Purchase a pumpkin that is NO larger than a basketball.
*Gather your decorating supplies. Acrylic paints or permanent markers are the best options.
Watercolors tend to run, and spray paint will gradually dissolve the pumpkin. You can add
materials like yarn, buttons, wiggly eyes, etc.
*Decorate your pumpkin without carving, cutting, or poking holes in it.
*Bring your pumpkins to school: Monday, October 12th, to Thursday, October 22nd.
*Pumpkins brought in by Thursday, October 22nd, will be entered in the decorating contest.
*Take your pumpkin home: Monday, October 26th. We will discard all pumpkins left behind after school on October 30th.

HAVE FUN AND BE CREATIVE!
