Retail theft isn’t a victimless crime.

It affects the employees working inside our stores, the businesses investing in the Central West End and the residents who depend on a strong neighborhood commercial district.

NSI works with businesses, security teams and law enforcement to review footage, track activity and support investigations.

Please respect our businesses, their employees and the community they serve. Protecting the CWE is a shared effort.

Protecting a Piece of Our Community’s History ⛪

The NSI is working alongside local community organizations to help safeguard and preserve Second Baptist Church.

The church represents generations of faith, community, and heritage in St. Louis. We’re proud to support the ongoing effort to protect this important neighborhood landmark for years to come.

One of the many services the NSI provides is helping participating taxing districts make the most of their security funding through supplemental patrols.

In this video, NSI Executive Director, Jim Whyte explains what supplemental patrols are, how they work, and why they’re an important part of creating a safer community.

2025 Camera Projects By The Numbers 🎥

NSI’s camera network continues to play an important role in supporting public safety and assisting investigations throughout the Central West End and participating districts.

In 2025:
• 145 camera reviews were conducted
• 64 arrests were connected to camera review investigations
• 54 active camera sites supported neighborhood coverage

These efforts help improve situational awareness, assist law enforcement investigations, and strengthen overall community safety.

Technology, partnership, and proactive response continue to be key parts of NSI’s mission to help keep our neighborhoods safe. 💙

🚗 Reminder: Prevent Car Rummaging

We’ve seen an increase in vehicles being rummaged through. A few simple steps can help prevent this:

- Lock your doors, even for short stops
- Don’t leave valuables inside (including fi****ms or medications)
- Stay aware of your surroundings

If nothing is missing, there’s no need to file a police report, please report it to NSI so we can track patterns.

If items are stolen, contact non-emergency police at 314-231-1212.

Small steps can make a big difference. 💙

🚲💙 CWENSI Outreach is proud to once again partner with the Bike Rehab Ministry of Manchester United Methodist Church, helping connect individuals in need with reliable transportation.

Through this partnership, donated bikes are matched to individuals based on their specific needs, including proper sizing, and every bike comes with a brand-new helmet and bike lock.

Recently, our outreach team helped a gentleman whose previous bike had been stolen, leaving him without transportation to work. Thanks to this collaboration, he now has a new bike that allows him to get to work and pick up extra side jobs again.
