The City of St. Louis, through the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment, just secured $1.3 million dollars to provide career opportunities for City youth.

The YouthBuild program, housed under the U.S. Department of Labor, will support 60 individuals between the ages of 16 and 24.

Youth in the program will earn a high school diploma or HiSET through a partnership with St. Louis Public Schools, receive hands-on occupational skills training, and participate in leadership development and community service projects. In partnership with Ranken Technical College, participants will earn industry-recognized construction credentials through the National Center for Construction Education and Research and those interested in transportation careers will also have the opportunity to earn a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Participants will also learn how to use AI responsibly to explore careers and solve real-world construction challenges.

This is a win for youth empowerment and a bright future for St. Louis!
