NC Cost-Burdened Households
Over 1 million low-income households in North Carolina spend 30% or more of their income on housing.

Wages
A full-time worker now needs to earn $27.14/hour just to afford a modest 2-bedroom rental without being cost-burdened, while the state minimum wage remains at $7.25/hour.

This isn’t sustainable and it’s not inevitable. It’s the result of policy choices on housing supply, zoning, and pay wages that Raleigh has failed to address for years.
