Getting Gardens Off to a Great Start: Spring Tasks for Maine Gardeners🧑‍🌾🍅🍆🥕🥔🥦🫛

March 10, 6–7:30 p.m. at the Stetson Public Library (snow date March 11, same time). Pre-registration is preferred. Registered participants will receive a follow-up email with relevant resources.

Spring in Maine brings longer days, warming soils, and a long to-do list for gardeners. This workshop will help home gardeners prioritize and time key spring gardening tasks to set gardens up for a productive season. Topics will be introduced in a fast-paced, lightning-round format, with time built in for participant questions and discussion. Covered topics will include pruning, starting seeds indoors, soil testing, w**d management, dividing perennials, season extension, planting timelines, plant spacing and supports, and composting. The program will be presented by University of Maine Cooperative Extension Horticulturist, Kate Garland.
