Today is the last day to turn in Reading Logs! 📚

💵 Cash prize drawings will take place Thursday afternoon:
• PK–K: $10
• Grades 1–3: $20
• Grades 4–6: $50

Each event attended earns a drawing ticket, and every 30 minutes of reading logged earns another ticket! Plus, students get a treasure chest prize for every 30 minutes they read.

101 Students attended the Summer Library Program last week! 🎉

📖Story Hour: What If You Had Animal Hair? by Sandra Markle

📚Battle of the Books: finished Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar and started Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

🎨STEAM Labs: Art - Watercolor Transfer, Acrylic Experimentation, and Marker Patterns

💻Makerspace: Perler Bead Creations, and Canva & Button Press to make pins

🔎Detective Directive: Crime Scene Analysis: Logic Puzzles

💐Community Presenter: Barbara Walker of Harry's Greenhouse, Field Trip. Harry's Greenhouse was established in 1956, and now has 121 greenhouses! Students asked lots of great questions, like how to keep plants alive in the winter, and we saw many flowers, fruits, and vegetables! At the end of the trip, Ms. Walker gave every student a petunia to plant at home!

Thursday's Field Trip will leave at 9:20 AM! Students MUST have a signed permission slip in order to go - these are available in the library. Students will be outside/in a greenhouse, and should dress for warm weather, wear good shoes and bring a water bottle!

👕Makerspace: Canva Design Tool & Cricut Vinyl Cutter to Make T-Shirts

⏰Detective Directive: Telling Time Escape Room

🎂Community Presenter: Chef Nette from Strawn Cakes & Bakes - Chef Nette is a classically trained pastry chef! She showed off some of her creations, talked about the different methods of how to become a chef, and gave each student a voucher for a free donut from her shop next weekend!
