Patrick County Administration is pleased to announce that Teresa McCormick has been selected as the Patrick County Employee of Month for April 2026.
Teresa began her 36-year career with Patrick County in July 1989 as a Tax Mapper and Project Director. Shortly after being hired, she was asked to transition to the County Administration Office, where she supported multiple departments, including County Administration, Building Inspection, Animal Control, and Emergency Services. In 2003, Teresa returned to her role as Tax Mapper. Throughout her long and dedicated career, she has contributed to many areas of County government, witnessed significant changes in both personnel and policy, and consistently adapted to those changes, remaining a valued and dependable employee.
Teresa’s nominator describes the duties of the Tax Mapper position as “assisting the general public, surveyors, and realtors with property locations and map copies. She works closely with the Commissioner of Revenue’s office to establish tax map numbers for surveys and deeds, supports County staff with special mapping projects, and serves as Clerk to the Planning Commission.” Despite these extensive responsibilities, Teresa remains readily available to assist in the County Administration Office whenever needed, consistently stepping in with a competent, professional, and helpful attitude.
It is impossible to fully capture the invaluable support Teresa has provided to Patrick County staff and citizens over her 36-year career. Her nominator describes her as “not just a Patrick County employee, but a Patrick County treasure. Teresa is the consummate professional, day in and day out, and is highly respected by her peers and the administration team.” Her dedication has contributed significantly to the success of the many areas in which she has served. Teresa’s unwavering commitment and positive attitude toward her work, her coworkers, and the public serve as an inspiration for all employees to follow.
