Today, we celebrated our students who showed growth on last year’s MAAP state assessment! 🎉🐾

At Sumrall Middle School, we love celebrating our students’ accomplishments, and showing growth is something to be proud of! Each student who grew on their MAAP State assessment received a special Paw Tag with a clip to attach to their backpack as a reminder of their hard work, dedication, and success.

Our Paw Tags feature the motto “Growth Starts with Me!” We believe every student has the ability to grow, improve, and achieve great things. Growth looks different for every student, and we want to recognize the effort and progress it takes to get there.

We are so proud of these students and excited to continue celebrating their success this school year! Keep working hard, keep growing, and keep showing what it means to be a Bobcat!

Growth Starts with Me everyday and every day is a GREAT day to be a Bobcat!

Tongue Twister Tuesday had our Bobcats all tangled up with this week’s phrase: “Red Ribbon Week!”Sounds easy… until you try saying it THREE times fast! Give it a try, and drop your suggestions for our next challenge in the comments!

Red Ribbon Week is in full swing at SMS!
Monday we wore red- because that’s what heroes do!
Tuesday was superhero day.
Wednesday has been Sidekick Squad where we have been seeing double!

Meanwhile a mystery lurks in the background of the school! Someone named Al has left a mysterious book titled The Principals Book Of Secrets on Mrs Fulton’s desk. Students and staff have been on the hunt all week to help her find the identity of Al. They’ve worked on solving puzzles and today they did acts of kindness all day to get the next clue.
We’ll find out tomorrow morning if the kindness shown today was enough to unlock the next clue.
Stay tuned…

At Sumrall Middle School, we are proud to be part of a community that values service, sacrifice, and the people who have helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we prepare for our Veterans Day celebration, we would love to recognize the veterans who are part of our Sumrall Middle School family and the families we serve. Whether you are a veteran yourself or have a family member who has served, we invite you to help us honor these heroes!

We are asking our school family and community to share a photo of their veteran along with their name, branch of service, and rank or military title (if known). We will use these photos to create a special Veterans Day video celebrating the brave men and women who have served our country.

This is a meaningful opportunity for us to recognize the people behind the uniforms, honor their sacrifices, and remind our students of the importance of service, courage, and patriotism.

Help us celebrate the heroes who have served and continue to inspire us!

Please send your photos and the veteran's information to [email protected] by November 4th.

From all of us at Sumrall Middle School, we look forward to honoring our veterans and their families on Veterans Day.
