🚑 With the closure of the Crozer Health System, municipalities across Delaware County lost critical emergency services Crozer once provided. Combined with ongoing staffing shortages, this has created real challenges for local governments working to maintain reliable emergency response for residents.
To address these countywide gaps, participating municipalities are exploring the creation of a new regional authority structure — the Delco Emergency Services Authority (Delco ESA). This model would provide stronger accountability through locally appointed board members and create a stable, transparent framework for delivering high quality emergency services.
📢 Swarthmore residents are encouraged to learn more and take part in the conversation. Additional information will be shared on the Borough website, and we invite you to join us for a public meeting:

The meeting will include an overview of the Delco ESA and an opportunity for residents to ask questions and share feedback.

for the purpose of information gathering related to athletic field lighting.

Trash collection update:

Monday, February 23rd trash collection will be on Thursday, February 26th. There is no change in Wednesday recycling collection and Thursday trash collection.

SNOW STORM ALERT
Residents should be aware of the Borough's Snow Emergency routes, purposes, and regulations. Following are designated snow emergency routes in the Borough: Cedar Lane from Swarthmore Avenue to Baltimore Pike, Chester Road, College Avenue between Chester Road and Swarthmore Avenue, Fairview Road Michigan Avenue, Park Avenue between Dartmouth Avenue and Michigan Avenue, Riverview Road Swarthmore Avenue, Yale Avenue.
If you live on a posted Snow Emergency Route, you may not park on the street from the time snow begins to accumulate on the surface of the street until 24 hours after the snow has stopped falling. Cars illegally parked on Snow Emergency Routes may be ticketed and/or towed.
