We enjoyed making Halloween Cards with Deb!

Our community members had a wonderful time making Halloween themed cards and a card with their initials on it. Every other month Deb comes in and helps our community members make the most amazing cards. We are so lucky to have her, and we all look forward to class!

We had a Pet visit from Baxter!

Baxter came in for some snuggles and kisses and also displayed how well-trained he is! Full of life and energy, he shook hands with our community members, ate cheese and let us enjoy his kind nature. Baxter, or his brother Odin, visits us once a month, and we sure look forward to their time with us. Thank you, Baxter, for a wonderful afternoon at Summerfield!

Resident Spotlight: Anne

Anne came to Brookdale Summerfield in March 2026. Anne was married to her husband (Donald) for 62 years!! They raised two sons (Kevin and Jason) whom both live locally. She is also a grandmother to two grandsons.

Anne worked for many years at Lamson in the front office which she says she loved very much. She also worked at Syracuse University in the Bursar's office.

Anne has adjusted beautifully to Brookdale Summerfield and stated, "I really love living here." Anne keeps herself active while volunteering in the necessity shop. She also enjoys playing bingo, cards, exercise, trivia, book club and doing jigsaw puzzles!!

We had an incredibly fun evening at our Family Night! Almost 70 families, friends and community members participated in the event. We enjoyed drinks, delicious appetizers and endless amount of laughs together!! Wishing a huge congratulations to Team Josephine for taking home the coveted trophy. Looking forward to doing this again closer to the holidays!

It was SPA DAY at Summerfield!!

Our community members enjoyed getting a little pampered with our Spa Day volunteers. Our beautician (Mary Jo) and her fellow beauticians come in every other month to do manicures for our residents. They also bring in delicious snacks and wonderful conversation. Thank you so much for coming to Summerfield!!

Sharing a lovely lunch at Elderberry Pond.

We had a delicious lunch at the beautiful and quaint Elderberry Pond in Auburn. Delicious sandwiches, the finest red and white wines along with delightful conversations and reminiscing. We truly enjoyed the afternoon.

One of our community members, Helen, demonstrated her passion for making Ukrainian Eggs! The detail, patience and diligence demonstrated today were incredible! Our residents loved watching her do her magic! Helen then gave out small eggs she previously completed for all of our participants!

Our community members enjoyed some classic Dolly Parton music while sipping on one of her signature drinks called "Nine to Five." Our Executive Director made these delicious cocktails with an impromptu homage to the Queen of Country. The community members had a lovely time reminiscing about her life and legendary music.

We had our annual Family BBQ at Brookdale Summerfield!

Our residents and their families and friends enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in our lovely courtyard with excellent BBQ, along with the sounds of The Puma's in our gazebo. Made the best memories and shared terrific times with our extended families and community members. We are looking forward to doing this again next year!

How amazing are our sketch artists?

We did a face and a bouquet of flowers today as our still for our incredibly gifted artist we have here at Brookdale Summerfield. The best part was listening to our community members compliment and share tricks of the trade with each other. With soft sounds playing in the background, it was a perfect setting for expression!
