🌟 Teacher Spotlight at J.T. Roberts Pre-K-8 School🌟
Today we’re celebrating one of our amazing educators who brings energy, dedication, and positivity into our school every single day!
Teacher: Sarah Gilbert
What are is/are your alma mater(s)?
I am a graduate of the Sackets Harbor Central School district. I was 1 of 30 students in our class. I attended Jefferson Community College and then went on to Geneseo where I got a degree in Elementary Ed and Special Ed.
What led you to go into teaching?
I was inspired to teach by my parents. I also taught ballet as a teenager and loved it and so I thought I’d like to teach in a school one day.
What is your superpower as a teacher ?
Intentionally incorporating the power of play into our learning centers!
What is 1 thing that students would say about you?
I hope they feel supported and encouraged, so they feel confident, capable, and valued. But it is Pre-K so I bet they might say I love their hugs and beautiful artwork!
What motivates you?
I love seeing joy in the faces of our Pre-k students!
What's the most important thing students learn from you that isn't in the curriculum?
Manners are important and being kind matters.
I have had the privilege of being part of the Roberts community for 20 years—both as a parent and as an educator. I genuinely look forward to coming to Roberts, knowing that I am part of something meaningful and impactful.
Working alongside Ms. Mo has been a true gift. We operate as a strong, unified team, grounded in mutual respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to being our very best for our students. Together, we strive to create a positive and supportive environment where every child can thrive.
J.T. Roberts Elementary-Middle School is brighter because of the positivity, connection, and passion she brings into the building each day. 💛📚✨
