❗ Don’t forget to vote!

🗳️ YWCA Pierce County encourages community members to learn about the issues on the ballot, make an informed decision, and return their ballots by Election Day.

YWCA Pierce County stands alongside the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault and other organizations participating in NO HATE in WA State. We encourage voters to learn more about the initiatives and their potential impacts on survivors, young people, and our communities.

A big thank you to the City of Puyallup - Government for helping raise awareness during Domestic Violence Action Month by lining the streets with purple DVAM banners. 💜

Today, while some of our staff attended a training in Puyallup, we were reminded how powerful visible community support can be. These displays send an important message to those impacted by domestic violence: you are not alone, and our community stands with you.

💜 Today, we wear purple in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence during Week Without Violence.

Purple represents survival, courage, and peace. By wearing purple, we send a simple but powerful message to survivors: you are not alone, and our community stands with you.

Together, we honor the strength of survivors and reaffirm our commitment to building a future free from violence.

This Week Without Violence, our Children's Program asked kids, "What is Healthy Love?" Here are their responses:
- there is always a light at the end of the tunnel
- you are stronger than you know
- a healthy love recipe: mutual respect, trust, safety, choice, support
- empathetic & listen to understand
- empowered
- loyalty
- spread kindness & love, not hate
- 💜
- love yourself a LOT

This Week Without Violence (October 19-23), we're Rising Together and Centering Young Voices to End Gender-Based Violence.

💜 🪻💟 On Purple Thursday, October 22nd, show your solidarity for survivors of domestic violence by wearing purple!

Young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, grooming, and exploitation, yet their voices are too often left out of conversations about prevention, healing, and change. Join us next week as we listen, learn, advocate, and imagine a future free from violence.

🧡A heartfelt thank you to our incredible donors and community members who joined us for the Healthy Love Club Breakfast on Tuesday morning. Your commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence and helping build a community filled with healthy love is truly inspiring. Every generous donation helps ensure that survivors have access to the essential services and support they need.

🎨 We were also grateful for the opportunity to come together and explore the powerful role that art can play in the healing journey, especially for those who have experienced trauma. Creative expression not only fosters healing and resilience, but also creates opportunities for connection, belonging, and community. Thank you for sharing your time, your compassion, and your support with us. Together, we are creating a stronger, safer, and more loving community. Thank you for being a YWCA supporter.

✨If you couldn’t make it to the breakfast, but wanted to support, please consider donating! https://ywca-pierce-county.mypaymentnow.com/pay/donate.
