Ask yourself: if you were in a crash, couldn’t use your phone, and were barely conscious or severely injured…how would you let your friends or family know?
On December 7, 2005, a tragic car crash took the life of Christine Olson’s daughter, Tiffany. Without any contact information available, it took several hours for Christine to receive the notification of her daughter’s passing.
Today, we recognize 20 years of the Emergency Contact Information (ECI) program and the partnership with Christine and TIFF’s Initiative (To Inform Families First) to improve timely, secure notification to families when it’s needed most. ECI is a secure system that allows Floridians to designate an emergency contact that law enforcement can quickly access to notify loved ones in an emergency, even across state lines.

Every second counts.
