The Board of Directors elected three new officers at the August board meeting. Congratulations to Charles Geiger, elected as Vice President; Stormie Knight, elected as Treasurer; and Susan Davis, elected as Secretary. We look forward to continued growth of the Corrections Foundation, led by President Lisa Miller.

๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฒ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ was born and raised in Volusia County, Florida, where his early involvement in agricultural education and the National FFA Association shaped the values defining his career. He credits the work ethic, leadership, and commitment to service developed through FFA as the foundation of his professional success.
After graduating high school, Chief Geiger attended the law enforcement academy at Daytona State College and began his career with the Edgewater Police Department in 2011. Following his service in patrol, he was selected for specialized assignments in the K-9 Unit and the Target Impact Unit, focusing on proactive enforcement and high-level criminal investigations.
He was promoted to Sergeant in 2018, supervising Special Services, Patrol Operations, and strategic initiatives, with an emphasis on operational effectiveness, personnel development, and organizational improvement. In 2022, he was promoted to Captain, overseeing the department's operational and administrative functions, including budget management, policy development, and long-term strategic planning. In October 2025, he was appointed Chief of Police by the City Manager.
Chief Geiger has completed advanced executive and command training, including the FBI LEEDA leadership program, the FDLE Florida Leadership Academy, and the FPCA New Chiefs Seminar, among other professional development. He is married to his wife, Sara, and in his free time enjoys the outdoors and traveling
๐ฆ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ถ๐ฒ ๐๐ป๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ serves as Vice President of Policy, Budget and Administration at Pasco-Hernando State College, where she provides direction in strategic planning, public policy, budget development, and institutional operations. With more than a decade of experience in state government and higher education, she previously served as the Policy Coordinator for Public Safety for the Executive Office of the Governor and as an Adjunct Instructor of Criminal Justice at Saint Leo University. Knight holds both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in criminology from Florida State University.
๐ฆ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ began her career with the Florida Department of Corrections in November 1981 in Classification at the Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler. Through hard work and dedication, she promoted through the ranks of the classification department. Subsequently, she entered the security side of the institutions, promoting to the rank of sergeant and then promoted to the Inspector Generalโs Office, where she gained her law enforcement certificate at North Florida College in Madison, Florida. In her 44+ years dedicated to the State of Florida her career spanned classification, investigative and leadership roles, including Assistant Warden, Correctional Services Assistant Administrator, and Correctional Services Consultant. At the 2025 Annual Agency Awards, Mrs. Davis received the Agency Employee of the Year Award.
Mrs. Davis has always been a proponent of the Corrections Foundation and encouraged participation and explained the benefits; not only to the employee she was speaking with but also how their participation would benefit fellow employees in their time of need. Mrs. Davis retired as a Correctional Services Consultant in the Region II Office of Institutions in October 2025, after serving 44.5 years with the State of Florida, 42.5 of them with the Department of Corrections.
Mrs. Davis enjoys her community partnerships, including serving as treasurer at Brooker Baptist Church, where she attends, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Dedan Cemetery Association.
