The Corrections Foundation attended a membership outreach event for Region 1 Community Corrections on Thursday, August 13th. We shared our story with the 40 probation officers and staff in attendance, highlighting testimonials from employees directly assisted by the Foundation.

Region 1 Community Corrections boasts an impressive 89% participation rate, and we were thrilled to welcome new members to our 17,800-strong statewide community. Special thanks to Region 1 Director Thomas Maggorian for his leadership and support in making this success possible.

Since 1999, we have provided $60,900 in direct financial assistance to 89 employees in Region 1. Statewide, the Foundation has supported nearly 14,500 FDC employees with over $13 million in aid.

To wrap up the event, Foundation Director Chris Akins and Director Maggorian presented Human Resource Consultant Donna Gay with a 30th Anniversary Corrections Foundation challenge coin in gratitude for organizing the outreach.

On the semiquincentennial of the United States, we remind ourselves we as Americans are joined together by a shared cause to make a more perfect Union and that which unites us is far stronger than that which divides us and that we must live up to those ideals.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
