National Public Lands Day is here, and Florida State Parks are celebrating the natural areas that belong to everyone. Public lands protect clean water, wildlife habitat and the outdoor spaces people enjoy for hiking, paddling and learning about nature.

Across the state, volunteers help with trail work, litter removal and other projects that keep parks healthy. These efforts support conservation and make sure parks stay welcoming for future visitors.

National Public Lands Day reminds us that these places thrive when communities care for them.

Tomorrow is National Public Lands Day — the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands! 🙌

Did you know? 💡 Florida manages 176 state parks, trails and historic sites spanning over 800,000 acres!

And Florida State Parks is the only four-time winner of the National Gold Medal for Excellence! Meaning our state parks are recognized far and wide as the best in the nation! 🥇🥇🥇🥇

Public Lands are just that — public. They belong to all of us, and when we visit, volunteer and advocate for our parks in our communities, we help ensure that these special places thrive for future generations.

Want to get involved? Several state parks are hosting official volunteer events to celebrate! Visit the official Florida State Parks website to find one in your area.

(Already have plans to visit your favorite state park this weekend? Let us know where in the comments!)

National Public Lands Day is coming up this Saturday, September 26th! We were absolutely honored when the Florida State Parks Foundation reached out and asked us to be involved in their Pints for Parks event. This initiative helps to support their mission to preserve, protect, sustain and grow our award-winning state parks!
We are one of just 8 breweries in the state of Florida helping to raise awareness about the state parks, trails, and historic sites that make Florida unique.
We knew that we had to create a special b**r and asked our friends Allisa & Barry at Roots Creative Co. to help us design a beautiful can label with one of our local spots on the Nature Coast in mind.
We spent a day last month exploring the Crystal River Archaeological State Park to get inspiration. We chose a site that was new for all of us in order to embrace the idea of getting out and exploring our beautiful state. Allisa is also a photographer and knew that she wanted to capture some photos from our excursion of the Native American burial grounds to use as the foundation for the can label.
Our b**r, The Face in the Stone, is named after one of the distinguishing features of the park - a Stela I stone that dates back to around 440 AD! The stone, which may have been used for ceremonial or celestial purposes, has a human face carved into it, and may even have symbolism beyond Florida.
If you haven't visited this park, you definitely need to add it to your list! Be sure to stop by this Saturday to try The Face in the Stone Rice L***r with Yuzu on tap or in cans to go. Prosit! 🍻

📰: "The glass-bottom boat tours started in the late 1870s when Hullam Jones and Phillip Morrell attached a piece of glass to the bottom of a rowboat, allowing visitors to gaze down into the crystal-clear springs without getting wet.

"On a modern-day glass-bottom boat tour, visitors learn about the movies filmed at Silver Springs, including “Tarzan” and “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” the health of the springs and the Florida fauna people might encounter."

Thank you to the Orlando Sentinel for shining a spotlight on Silver Springs State Park!

A two-day, 300-mile road trip hits some of the most famous and remarkable springs in Florida, including Silver Springs, Devil’s Den, Crystal River and Weeki Wachee.

Our team spanned coast-to-coast this week to wave the Florida State Parks banner and share our latest news and updates!

First, our CEO, Julia Gill Woodward, and Director of Development, Tyler Van Buren, represented the Sunshine State at the National Association of State Park Foundations annual conference in Spokane, Washington!

We were wowed by the sights and sounds of the Pacific Northwest, we gleaned some amazing insights from an incredible lineup of speakers and presenters, and we were inspired by time spent with people from all over the country who love their state parks as much as we do.

Then, our Director of Communications, Tim Linafelt, traveled near Gainesville to join the Friends of Paynes Prairie for their Speaker Series!

Tim shared some of what the Foundation has been up to lately and previewed some exciting things on the horizon before taking a few questions from attendees.

Thank you to the Washington State Parks Foundation and the Friends of Paynes Prairie for being tremendous friends, partners and hosts!
