Congratulations to the Florida K-12 AI Education Task Force on this well-deserved recognition!

The Florida K-12 AI Education Task Force, led by the UF CS Everyone Center in collaboration with education partners across the state, is continuing to guide responsible and effective AI use in Florida classrooms. The task force was recently recognized with EDSAFE AI Alliance’s 2026 Torchbearer Award for its leadership and commitment to “ensuring AI implementation is safe, fair and equitable for all students.”

FSBA extends its sincere appreciation and congratulations to Orange County Public Schools Board Chair Teresa Jacobs as she prepares to retire after decades of dedicated public service. Chair Jacobs’ leadership, commitment, and service have made a lasting impact on Orange County and public education across Florida. We wish her all the best in this well-earned next chapter.

Jacobs, 69, was first elected to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners in 2000 and has served as county mayor and school board chair in the decades since.
