This recognition may bear the name of our CEO, Amber R. Tynan, but it reflects the work of an entire organization. ❤️Big Bend Cares and Care Point Health & Wellness Center are incredibly proud to celebrate Amber being named Tallahassee’s 2026 Distinguished Leadership Awards Leader of the Year.

This honor recognizes leadership that creates meaningful, tangible impact in our community; something that happens across our organizations every single day. From healthcare and HIV services to housing, prevention, pharmacy, dental care, behavioral health, and basic needs, our team shares one purpose: showing up for people and strengthening the community we call home.

We are proud of Amber’s leadership, but we are equally proud of the extraordinary staff, Board members, partners, volunteers, and supporters who turn vision into impact. This recognition belongs to the mission and to every person who carries it forward.

We also congratulate the remarkable finalists and honorees recognized alongside Amber. Our community is stronger because of people who choose to lead, serve, and invest in others.

Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day, a time to recognize older adults living with HIV, celebrate long-term survivors, and raise awareness about the importance of care, prevention, and support at every age.

As people with HIV live longer, access to compassionate healthcare, testing, PrEP, supportive services, and community remains essential.

Today, we celebrate those aging with HIV, remember those we’ve lost, and continue working toward a future without HIV stigma.

A little strategy, a lot of collaboration, some laughter, and plenty of good conversation. 💙

Today our leadership team stepped away from the day-to-day to spend intentional time focused on where we’re going, how we’re going to get there, and, just as importantly, how we continue showing up for one another along the way.

We dug into the operational work behind our strategic plan, strengthened our commitment to working as one team, and made a little room for connection and fun, too.

Big goals require more than a good plan. They require people who trust one another, challenge one another, support one another, and stay grounded in the mission.
