Tenino School District

Tenino School District Our city is rich in history, with the first settler to arrive in 1849. We’re a close-knit community that supports quality education.

Tenino, Washington, population 1,900, is a bedroom community located 26 minutes south of Olympia and about an hour and a half west of Mount Rainier National Park. Our rural District consists of two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The faculty and staff at all of our school sites are excellent motivators, who encourage and educate their students with enthusiasm. We have h

igh expectations for our students, and they have always risen to the challenge. We truly believe that Tenino School District is a great place to learn and grow.

✨Retiree Spotlight -- Ginger Dafoe✨

Mrs. Dafoe started at Parkside Elementary School in the Preschool in 1992 where she stayed for 4 years. She took a year off and returned in 1998. During her 33 years, she has worked with students ranging from preschool through 2nd grade and has loved being a part of the education team!

Mrs. Dafoe will miss the excitement of the children as they come through the doors each morning! She will also miss the nonstop craziness of each day (both good and not so good). Lastly, she will miss the Parkside family!

She’s looking forward to traveling with her husband, spending time with her family and really just doing anything her heart desires! 💃🦋🫶

✨Retiree Spotlight -- Mr. Joel Morlin✨

Mr. Morlin has worked in the Tenino School District since 2016 and has had the opportunity to work in all 4 of our schools! This year he worked at Tenino High School as a Student Support Specialist. The connections he’s made and relationships he’s built have made his time here in Tenino meaningful and rewarding.

After retirement, Mr. Morlin is looking forward to spending more time with his family and friends, traveling, and enjoying a slower pace of life. He’s also looking forward to fulfilling his bucket list which includes visiting every professional baseball stadium – he has 12 more to go! ⚾️🧳🏟️
