You may have noticed a special artist in town working on something exciting for our community! 🎨🇺🇸

As part of the upcoming 250-Year Celebration of America, we recently held a mural design contest, and the winning design will soon come to life on the historic Rialto Theater.

We are proud to showcase local creativity and talent while celebrating our nation’s history and the spirit of our community. Be sure to keep an eye on the progress as the mural begins to take shape!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the contest and helped make this project possible. We can’t wait for the community to see the finished mural! ❤️🤍💙 🇺🇸

At approximately 7:15 P.M. this evening city staff began receiving calls and social media posts related to loss of natural gas delivery to homes and businesses.

Upon receipt of this information, City crews were dispatched to check various portions of the City's gas distribution system including the City's gas entry point.

Through the various assessments conducted, it was determined that gas pressure was decreased and then stopped.

After various attempts to inquire with the City of George, it was relayed that the City of George West was conducting maintenance on their gas system and closed a valve that resulted in the stoppage of gas flow to the City of Three Rivers.

NOTE: The City of Three Rivers shares use of a mutual gas line with the City of George West and this shared use means that Three Rivers gas must pass through the portion of the line in George West prior to being transmitted to Three Rivers.

The valve has since been re-opened by the City of George West and the gas line is now re-pressurizing.

City of Three Rivers crews will be going door to door to re-light gas pilots for residents.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Arturo Garza 🌟

As a continuation of our Employee Spotlight series, today we are proud to recognize Arturo Garza, a dedicated employee of the City of Three Rivers since 1981. For more than four decades, Arturo has faithfully served our community with hard work, commitment, and dependability.

As the City’s main Backhoe Operator, Arturo is known for being one of the first to arrive and one of the last to leave. Rain or shine, Arturo shows up ready to work and give his all. According to his supervisor, Claudio Cantu, Arturo is a dependable employee and a valuable part of the City team. Not only is he a skilled operator, but he also takes initiative—if a job needs to be done, Arturo is never afraid to step down from the equipment and lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Throughout his years with the City, Arturo has made tremendous progression and continues to be a dedicated employee who takes pride in his work. Outside of work, Arturo is a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and faithfully attends services.

Family means everything to Arturo. He has two children, both graduates of Three Rivers ISD, and today he is blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His daughter shared a special memory of her father, remembering that he used to walk to work before one day purchasing the blue truck he still owns today. That truck became more than just transportation—it represented hard work, determination, and a milestone in his life. To this day, Arturo continues to take tremendous pride in it, keeping it clean, maintained, and cared for with the same dedication he gives to everything else in life.

With a birthday celebration coming soon, we want to thank Arturo Garza for his years of dedication and service to the City of Three Rivers. We appreciate everything he does for our community!
