🇺🇸 CONSTITUTION CORNER | The Constitutional Oath
The Constitution doesn’t just establish the structure of government. It also requires those entrusted with public office to support it.
Article VI, Clause 3 requires U.S. Senators and Representatives, state legislators, and federal and state executive and judicial officers to be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution.
The oath serves as a reminder that public service carries a constitutional responsibility, regardless of the office held or level of government.
