The Trafalgar Police Department would like to remind everyone to keep their vehicles and outbuildings locked with your porch lights on overnight. Please do not leave valuables inside your vehicles. There have been numerous reports of vehicle break-ins throughout Johnson County over the past few days. Taking a few extra precautions can help reduce the risk of theft and keep our community safer.

Last night on the north side of town, a tornado siren went off. After speaking with the Johnson County Emergency Management they said there was outside interference from another county. The frequencies interacted causing the siren to go off. They are aware and working on a solution. Thank you.

The Trafalgar Police Department would like to remind all residents not to park on the streets over the next few days due to the forecasted snowfall. Keeping your vehicles off the street will allow the Street Department to remove snow more quickly and efficiently. For your safety and the safety of others, please stay off the roads when the snow starts to fall. Thank you for your cooperation!
