In 1985, the National Recreation and Park Association established July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month. ✊✊🏾✊🏻

This year’s theme for Park and Recreation Month is “Our Park and Recreation Story,” which intends to highlight the stories of how the Troy community is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of parks and recreation. Wellness Wednesday: A monthly post to encourage better mental and physical health with one simple idea, brought to you by Troy Recreation.

This month’s Wellness Wednesday is #SeniorSelfCare. #SeniorSelfCare is a hashtag that encourages seniors to focus on their mental health by making room for self care. One way to do this is by signing up for Troy Rec’s FREE Senior Care Packages that are full of wellness goodies!

We know that taking care of yourself can be difficult when your schedule is full watching the grandkids, walking the dog, or taking care of the house, so we put together care packages for Troy residents ages 65+ that promote a healthy lifestyle. We’re all for #SeniorSelfCare. 🧘🏾‍♀️ Register with Act #8905-B3 at rec.troymi.gov/registration.

Feeling blue in Troy today! Is asphalt the new green space?? Residents first, not developers?! Seriously Troy! Troy is becoming a concrete jungle and it's very sad! A 3rd asphalt trail is planned to go thru Jaycee park, why not just leave it green? Why not replant the trees and plant life that was already destroyed as part of the new residential development near there. Most, if not all of the Troy City Council Members, when running for office, their 1st item on their agenda was 'green space' and now we have over development and asphalt trails! Very sad for all the displaced wildlife!
Hello, I just want to compliment the City on the beautiful new trail you created next to Sylvan Glen Golf Course. I was extremely impressed with it and, my dog and I truly enjoyed the peaceful, serene walk alongside the pond and through the woods. The rustic fencing is a nice touch too! You folks did a wonderful job on the trail, so kudos to all those involved, and keep up the great work!
Congrats to Cobra Kai on wining thier first ever softball game. it was was a12-9 thriller last night versus St. Anastasia in the Men's E West Division.
Booked tee times through the Sylvan Glen golf course. Found out I have to work tomorrow due to a death in the owner's family and can't play. Called Sylvan Glen only to be told I booked through Golf Now! Didn't know that was the case. Sylvan Glen said to call Golf Now I called Golf Now and they said to "chat" through their website. Tried - nothing happens, only a contact us that does nothing. This has been a very bad experience and I am out the price of two tee times.

The weather is beautiful and I thought it would be nice to go for a walk in Raintree Park today, however it seems that it hasn’t been sprayed for mosquitoes yet! Had to leave it was extremely uncomfortable and I noticed hardly anybody is there. I was there in June with my grandchildren and it was just as bad, people were leaving because of the mosquitoes! Aren’t the parks being sprayed this year?
...without question THE best behaved players i have consistently umpired. i umpire the Thursday E league at Flynn. These guys are great. i hustle. do my best and miss a call now and then. NO issues. A great league, ethnically and racially diverse, fun, and great hustle. 🔥🔥
