It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the sudden loss of a true law enforcement icon, dedicated public servant, and unforgettable friend.

Officer Fabian Valdez joined our agency after an incredible 24 year career with the Tucson Police Department. In just two short years with our department, his impact was immeasurable. He brought a light, energy and genuine warmth that instantly lifted every room he walked into. To know him was to love him, he had the best personality, knew absolutely everyone and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a great cop, a compassionate mentor, and a driving force for positive change in our department and community. The memories, laughter and legacy he leaves behind will stay with us forever.

Please join us in keeping his family, loved ones and fellow officers in your thoughts and prayers during this extraordinarily difficult time.

Today, the Pima Community College Police Department proudly recognizes the women who serve our campuses, those who wear the badge, answer the call, lead with purpose, support their colleagues and make a difference in the lives of the students and communities we serve.
We are grateful for the women who showed up before they were expected, stayed when it was difficult, led when it wasn’t easy and made room for the woman coming behind them. Some changed policy. Some changed culture.Some simply changed one person’s life. All of them changed policing.

To the women of the Pima Community College Police Department: thank you for your service, your leadership, your resilience and the countless ways you make our department and our campuses better.Your impact is bigger than your title, and your legacy is bigger than you may ever know.

Last month, we proudly welcomed Lieutenant Peoble and celebrated his swearing in. 🚔

Lt. Peoble brings 24 years of extensive law enforcement experience to the Pima Community College Police Department. Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in numerous leadership and specialized roles, including Patrol Sergeant, Internal Affairs Sergeant, Search and Rescue Sergeant, and SWAT Sniper Team Leader.

An AZPOST Master Fi****ms Instructor and certified ICS Planning Section Chief, Lt. Peoble now leads our Patrol Bureau, focusing on mentorship, professional standards, and community oriented policing.

Safety first, Aztecs! PCC has installed emergency Narcan (Naloxone) kits next to AED boxes across all campuses.

These are strictly for life-threatening opioid overdose emergencies.

What to do in an emergency:

1️⃣ Grab the nearest kit (next to the AED).

2️⃣ Call PCC Police at 520-206-2700 or dial 911.

3️⃣ Follow the instructions inside the box.

As students head back to the classroom, law enforcement is stepping up school zone patrols and speed limit enforcement to keep everyone safe. Keep these essential reminders in mind before hitting the road:

🛑 Stop for school buses when red lights are flashing.

🚸 Come to a complete stop at stop signs and crosswalks.

📱 Put the phone away, avoid distracted driving.

🚘 Slow down in school zones and watch for students and crossing guards.

Stay alert, slow down, and help us keep our school communities safe!
