🔥 Dangerous & Expansive Heat Wave 🔥

Dangerous heat rebuilds over the Southern Plains and expands east into the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, & Southeast this week. Highs of 95–105°F with lows in the mid-70s bring widespread Major to Extreme HeatRisk.

The current US Drought Monitor shows that the ABRFC basin continues to dry out. Much of the area experienced a one class degradation since last week's issuance.

Drought continues to worsen rapidly across the region. D3 and D4 drought conditions expanded across the western ABRFC. Not much relief is in sight over the next few weeks.

Drought is growing and worsening rapidly across the ABRFC area. Areas of D4 and D3 drought expanded across the west. Drought is worsening rapidly across our eastern areas. Conditions are expected to worsen more over the next few weeks.

After more hot and mostly dry weather across the eastern parts of the ABRFC, drought conditions worsened this week. Conversely, there was improvement across Colorado with some Southwest Summer Monsoon rainfall.

Drought persists across a large part of the ABRFC. D3 and D4 drought conditions cover several areas of the western ABRFC, where the drought continues to worsen. There may be some relief is store for our far-western areas, as the Southwest Summer Monsoon season is underway.
