As the City's Community Services Department, the Parks and Recreation staff provides a multitude of services and activities to the community. There are seasonal athletic programs, instructional classes, and a large array of activities that are available to youth and adults. The City of Twentynine Palms Parks and Recreation Department's mission statement is to create community through people, parks, and programs.

29 Palms' Go Skate Day 2026 is this Sunday, June 21 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Join Escapade at Luckie Park for an evening of shredding and fun for the whole family filled with competitions, cash prizes, giveaways, and more!!

Waiver Signups will be required to Skate, and available for all ages. Main GSD events include a "Grom Throwdown" youth competition, plus an epic "Old Man Bowl Jam" to cover all age groups.

100 years of the Mother Road. 2,300 miles of adventure. One unforgettable stop in Twentynine Palms.

The 2026 Hemmings Great Race is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66 with a special themed route from Springfield, IL to Pasadena, CA — passing through Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California with iconic Route 66 sights along the way.

Teams from Japan, England, Australia, Canada, and every corner of the United States call this rally a true "bucket list" event — and they're all headed OUR way!

So... what exactly IS the Great Race? 🤔

Started in 1983, the Hemmings Great Race is the world's premiere old car rally — but don't call it a casual cruise! This is a precision time/speed/distance competition where each car (with a driver and navigator) follows instructions timed down to the SECOND, scored at secret checkpoints along the route. Lowest score wins, just like golf!

The prize? A $160,000 purse split among five classes, with the overall winner taking home $50,000!

And on Saturday, June 27 at 11:45AM, all of that history and horsepower pulls into Luckie Park for a FREE public lunch stop. Get ready, Twentynine Palms!

Men's League plays Monday nights, and Coed League plays Wednesday nights at Luckie Park starting July 20. The leagues are open to ages 18 and older at just $41 per player.

No team? No problem! Sign up as a Free Agent and we'll place you on a roster — no fee until you're place on a team.

The City of Twentynine Palms is applying for a grant to build ~4 miles of improvements along El Paseo Drive and Adobe Road — connecting Oasis Elementary, Twentynine Palms High School, and City Hall with complete, safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists.

This year holds extra special meaning as we celebrate a remarkable milestone: 100 YEARS of the Old Schoolhouse! A century of history, learning, and community, all preserved by the dedicated folks at the Historical Society.

For decades, the Twentynine Palms Historical Society has worked tirelessly to honor and protect the rich heritage of our desert home. There's no one more fitting to lead this year's celebration!

Twentynine Palms, let's light up Independence Day together! Join us Saturday, July 4, from 6-10PM at Knott's Sky Park for a night of family fun — and it's completely FREE!

Cool off on the waterslides. Snap memories at the photo booth. Grab a bite from local food vendors. Vibe to music & a live fireworks simulcast by Z107.7FM!

This year is extra special — in honor of America's 250th anniversary, the Kiwanis Club of Twentynine Palms will share a reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Then stick around for the Fireworks Viewing Party! Starting around 9PM, watch the sky come alive as fireworks launch over Tortoise Rock Casino.

🏀🏐 Starting Monday, June 8, the Twentynine Palms Community Center is switching to their summer hours. Whether you're shooting hoops, volleying with friends, or up for some friendly competition, there's a spot for you. Plus, we've got dedicated adults-only sessions every evening.

Summer Open Gym Schedule:
