Hey Uvalde!
Got a parade or block party in the works? We’ve updated our street-closure application process, and we want to help ensure your event goes smoothly!

A few quick things to keep in mind:
• Grab your forms early: Everything you need is available on our UPD page at https://www.uvaldetx.gov/government/city_departments/uvalde_police_department.php
• Give it some time: The approval process takes a little time to work through, so please get your paperwork in as soon as possible.
• Wait to spread the word: To save yourself potential headaches, hold off on posting flyers or advertising until your permit is officially approved.

Thanks for helping us keep our community events safe and organized. We can't wait to see what you're planning!

High Visibility. High Impact. Safer Roads.

This weekend, the Uvalde Police Department is teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and our local law enforcement partners for Saturation Saturday on August 29th.

With one of the busiest travel weekends of the year right around the corner, our officers will be out in full force with increased patrols and high-visibility enforcement to stop DWI before it starts.
Our mission is simple: Zero impaired drivers and zero preventable tragedies.

If you’re heading out to celebrate this weekend, please plan ahead:
• Designate a sober driver before the night starts.
• Step in if you see a friend about to drive under the influence.

Let's work together to keep our roads and community safe.
Drive sober or get pulled over.

⚠️We ask that you stay clear of the 100 block of Cobb Street at this time. A swarm of bees has been discovered and we are asking residents to stay indoors, in that areas, in order to prevent from getting stung.
Please use extreme caution.

Yesterday, Assistant Chief Mike Davis was honored with the Community Service Award at the 56th Annual Middle Rio Grande Development Council Meeting, in recognition of his tireless dedication to Uvalde.

Since joining the department in May 2024, Assistant Chief Davis has driven key technical innovations and brought a depth of institutional knowledge that sharpens our entire team. But beyond his tactical expertise, it is his daily leadership, camaraderie, and steady support for our officers that truly sets him apart.

We are grateful to the MRGDC Board and Council for recognizing the character and leadership we, as an awarding-winning team, are fortunate to work alongside every day.

🎉 National Night Out is almost here, and we can’t wait!

Last year was such a blast, but this time around, we’re aiming to make it even bigger and better. It’s always a great excuse to get outside, catch up with neighbors, chat with our local first responders, and meet the area businesses and groups that make our community special.

That said, an event like this only works if we do it together! We'd love for you to be a part of it.

When: Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM

Where: El Jardín de los Héroes Park

If you, your business, or your group would like to jump in on the fun or help out, reach out to our Public Information Officer, Juli Alvarado, at [email protected].
