🍀 Join the El Progreso Memorial Library 4-H Club! 🍀

Looking for a fun way for your child to learn new skills, make friends, and discover new interests? Enrollment for the El Progreso Memorial Library 4-H Club is almost here!

From animals and gardening to cooking, crafts, leadership, STEM, and community service, 4-H offers hands-on learning experiences that help youth build confidence, develop life skills, and explore their passions.

🌱 Clover Kids (Ages 5-7)
A fun, non-competitive program that introduces young children to teamwork, life skills, and new experiences.

🍀 Traditional 4-H (Ages 8-18)
Youth develop leadership, citizenship, and practical life skills through exciting projects, competitions, fairs, and service opportunities.

🏡 Homeschool families are encouraged to join! 4-H is a wonderful way to enrich your curriculum with project-based learning, social opportunities, leadership development, and hands-on educational experiences.

No experience is required. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn!

🚨 LIBRARY CLOSURE NOTICE: 12 PM–2 PM TOMORROW 🚨

El Progreso Memorial Library will be CLOSED from 12:00–2:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, so our team can attend a special community celebration at Starbucks Uvalde. We will reopen at 2:00 PM.

Thanks to our local Starbucks partners (employees) and The Starbucks Foundation for recognizing how we are making our community stronger!

El Progreso Memorial Library is grateful to receive a $2,000 Neighborhood Grant, made possible through a nomination from our local Starbucks partners. Following the July flooding, The Starbucks Foundation also stepped up with an additional $5,000 donation to support local recovery efforts and help us continue caring for our neighbors. 💚

We invite the entire community to join us at Starbucks Uvalde as we celebrate this partnership and the power of neighbors supporting neighbors. ☕📚💚

A huge THANK YOU to the SWTX LEA Alpha Class ‘27 Cadets and Instructors Beco Diaz and Ronald Rodriguez for showing up and putting in the work for our community! 💙💪🌳

These cadets traded PT for rakes and shovels and got to work spreading mulch and helping prepare the park for our children and families. Now THAT is some community service! 💪🫶

⚠️ And while the park may LOOK ready, it’s not quite ready for play yet! We still have work to do before we can officially welcome everyone back. Please hang tight just a little longer!

We are incredibly grateful for every set of hands helping bring our parks back after the July flooding.

Well, well, well… look who decided to stop by the library! 😂📚

The missing acorn 🌰 is still making the rounds around Uvalde, and apparently the library was next on the itinerary!

And look who got a LIBRARY CARD! 📚🌰🐿️ The acorn knows a good thing when it sees one! 😉

A BIG thank you to Beco and Rolla Diaz, Dolly Schultz and Tammie Sinclair for coming out and helping prep Studer Park for Saturday! 🙌🐾

And a special shoutout to Kim and Alex from the SSGT Willie de Leon Civic Center for helping us track down the w**d barrier we needed! Sometimes it takes a village just to find the supplies. 😄💙
