Our book of the week this week is a day later than usual, but it's worth the wait! The Book of Flaco, the World's Most Famous Bird by David Gessner tells the story of Flaco, an owl who escaped from the Central Park Zoo in 2023 and became a viral sensation. This book covers the year Flaco lived free in Central Park before his death, as well as the discussions about animals in urban environments his story inspired. The Book of Flaco is available for check out today at the AML!

Happy Friday Vikings! Next week is the last week of classes before Finals Week, which also means it's Destress Week at the Allen Memorial Library. Here's the line up of events for this semester.

Monday, May 4th: Study snack table goes up, "May the 4th be with you" themed bookmark making.

Tuesday, May 5th: Pet visits in the library, 10:00am-2:00pm.
We have some furry friends coming to see us once again, including cats from 11am-noon!

Wednesday, May 6th through Friday, May 8th: AML Craft-a-thon!
That's right, three whole days of crafts. We'll have the supplies and instructions available for some of our most popular events, but you can also use our supplies to make whatever you want!

We're kicking off our National Library Week with a Book of the Week post a day early! This week we're featuring Book and Dagger by Elyse Graham. Book and Dagger tells the true story of scholars and librarians who were recruited as spies for the Office of Strategic Services during World War II.
