Van ISD inspires and prepares all students to be successful in a rapidly changing world. Whether it be the rich traditions, the talented students, or the mystique of this small East Texas town, we are very proud of our Vandal roots which began with the discovery of the Van Oil Field in 1929. Our kids are known for their compet
itiveness and how hard they work in the classroom as well as in all extra-curricular activities. The students of Van ISD have earned numerous state championships in academics, fine arts, and athletics. At Van ISD, our core belief is, “EVERY child has the right to be prepared to attend college, and it is the responsibility of the adults in our schools to put systems in place to make that happen.” This is a responsibility we take very seriously. We believe a students’ pursuit of a college education begins the moment they walk through our doors in kindergarten and continues as they complete their high school diploma. Our desire is that every student who graduates from Van High School will pursue a college degree or some form of post secondary education. Educating a child is a team effort.
