Welcome to the WFL WORD OF THE DAY posting.

In keeping with May, we're introducing the plant that inspired the name gracing the 17th-century English merchant ship, famous for transporting 102 passengers (the Pilgrims) and about 30 crew members from England to the New World. On November 21, 1620, after a treacherous 66-day voyage, the Mayflower debarked, facilitating the founding of the Plymouth Colony.

Keep your eyes open, and you may find the Arbutus plant on a walk/hike. A low-growing, spreading plant with waxy flowers, it can be found along trails in Myles Standish State Forest and other locales in NE

It's the WFL TWEEN/TEEN CRAFTERNOON program! Kids between 11 and 18 are welcome to join us for a great make-and-take project - the only limit is your imagination!!

Are you ready to stretch your talents? This week, we're painting MINI CANVASES in a variety of designs. Choose from flowers, hearts, penguins, dinos, rainbows, abstracts, or whatever makes your heart happy. The mini 4" x 6" canvases are prepped and ready for your imagination and acrylic paint. Create something special for yourself or someone else.

Just a reminder to save the date for this program! So excited to have High Point here to connect with our 11-18-year-olds and explore ways to navigate feelings & emotions that can be challenging. Come discover ways to take control and live your best life.

This FREE program is led by a certified youth Mental Health First Aider in coordination with the WFL. No registration is required for this 5/19 drop-in event held from 3-4pm.
