Promoting transparent, predictable, and internationally aligned investment dispute resolution while strengthening Uzbekistan’s capacity to support a stable, rules-based commercial and investment environment creates more predictable conditions for U.S. businesses abroad. 🇺🇸🤝🇺🇿

CLDP supported a delegation from the Ministry of Justice and Tashkent State University of Law to participate in a working group session on Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) reform at the United Nations Commission on International Trade (UNCITRAL) in Vienna, Austria.

This initiative enabled Uzbek policymakers and academics to directly engage in international standard-setting, bring a transition-economy perspective to global discussions, and translate emerging international best practices into national legal reforms, academic curricula, and domestic efforts to modernize Uzbekistan's commercial and investment climate.

🌍 Strengthening national security policies and safeguards in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector improves the security of and environment for US investments.

On October 27-28, CLDP facilitated a telecommunications cybersecurity workshop in Prishtina, Kosovo focused on enhancing high-risk vendor screening and supply-chain due diligence practices. This targeted engagement reinforces the region’s commitment to U.S. security objectives while supporting the development of systems that are resilient, competitive, and aligned with international best practices.

👏 Special thanks to CISA and FCC for sending experts with invaluable expertise on these topics this week!

Efficient dispute resolution is critical to attracting investment and advancing economic goals while creating a favorable environment for U.S. businesses. That’s why a key focus of CLDP’s work in Bosnia and Herzegovina is promoting alternative dispute resolution and the enforcement of arbitral awards.

From September 16-18, in partnership with the Center for the Education of Judges and Prosecutors (CEST) in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska, CLDP led a program to train judges on ADR and arbitration topics. These judges will then implement CLDP’s ADR curriculum to train incoming and sitting judges throughout BiH, increasing the understanding of ADR topics to facilitate the enforcement of arbitral awards and allow for more efficient proceedings for U.S. and foreign companies.

Many thanks to our partners at CEST for co-hosting the program, the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo (United States Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina) for their support, and our experts and the participants who contributed to a productive session!

U.S.-Chile collaboration on trusted technology, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure, including initiatives such as the U.S. AI Export Program and Pax Silica, are the kind of public-private collaboration our countries need to advance secure, trusted, and innovative digital ecosystems that support economic growth and shared prosperity.
