It's finally time to share our 2025 Community Report! We are so excited about all the cool things we got to do in 2025 and can't wait to see what the second half of 2026 has to offer. It's also been just over a year since I (Chloe) started as your new director, and it has been an absolute pleasure to get to know all of you and work in this beautiful community. Please mark your calendars for the Waterford Public Library's Budget vote on June 3, from 12-8 pm! This year's budget is a 3% raise over 2026. You are voting for continued programming for adults and children, additional funds for our library of things, and the replacement of worn children's materials. The full budget breakdown with dollar amounts can be found on the library's website and is also available by request at the check-out desk. Absentee ballots are available by request.

We are very excited to announce two new offerings to our library of things: Mind & Memory Kits! These kits are designed to help those with early onset dementia, memory loss, and Alzheimer's, though they contain resources that may be useful for all ages and abilities, and are accessible to anyone with a library card.

Kit #1 includes: Alzheimer's Through the Stages: A Caregiver's Guide by Mary Moller; Fidget Sensory Dog with Vest; Soft Fidget Toy; Table Topics Conversation Starter Cards; Wooden Marble Maze

Kit #2 includes: Alzheimer's Through the Stages: A Caregiver's Guide by Mary Moller; Fidget Sensory Lap Blanket; Rainbow Fidget; Table Topics Conversation Starter Cards; Silicone Shape Puzzle

Kits also include pamphlets and brochures from the Alzheimer's Association which can be kept. Kits can be checked out for 14 days.

As you've probably noticed, we did a whole bunch of egg-themed crafts these past few weeks. Here are some pictures from our diamond-dot egg keychain class.

Diamond dot art is so fun and relaxing we are thinking about doing a monthly diamond-dot art club where people can meet, pick from a variety of projects, and come back the next month to continue a project or pick up a new one. We're thinking we'll open it up to tweens, teens, and adults. If you'd be interested in participating in something like this, leave a comment below!
